As you will know if you have been reading my blog, I have been suffering from anxiety. It has meant I have had panic attacks
I have been attending counselling which has definitely helped
I was contacted about the Thrive App & asked if I would like to review it
Thrive is an app that is proven to train individuals in clinically proven techniques to manage their mental health; screen for mental health conditions like anxiety and depression; and make prevention part of general wellbeing for all.
Thrive offers a unique depth and range of support in one application. From relaxation techniques such as meditation, to thought training, sleep improvement, and goal progress tracking – you can improve your mental wellbeing easily, confident that all you need is in one place.
Thrive uses the latest computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) methods that are proven to help people to manage specific stressors and retrain unhelpful thoughts. Every Thrive question and feature has been validated by research and is continually developed by experts.
Proven to help identify risk factors for stress, and then provide a mechanism to eliminate them by changing habits, the application is a powerful prevention tool now recognised by the NHS
Each time you load the app it asks you to rate your mood. It then asks you why you feel this way
Each day you get goals to complete. These vary depending on your mood & stress levels.
There are also breathing techniques you can do & relaxation techniques to learn. I found the deep muscle relaxation really good
I have been using the app for 4 weeks, I used it over the festive period which was quite stressful. I do feel it helped me relax & I will keep using it. The relaxation takes 5 minutes, which is the grand scheme of things isn’t much time to take out of your take to manage your mental health and the results are definitely worth taking that time
