Our trip to Isles of Scilly

Those who know me know I love entering competitions

I’ve been doing it now for about 5 years now, I’ve won some great prizes too. I’m not entering as many as I used to though, pre children I probably entered 100+ a day easy

It was Mr M who got me started, he was entering them & started winning, I wanted in on the action

Recently he won a 3 night trip to Isles of Scilly, to the island of Bryher & a stay at the Hell Bay Hotel including bed, breakfast & dinner, along with flights & transfers on the island

Pretty great prize!

We went last weekend

It’s an absolutely beautiful part of the world. To be honest it’s never been somewhere I’ve thought of but it’s gorgeous

We were lucky to have lovely weather. There was a rain/hail shower the Saturday morning but other than that we had sunshine

We arrived on the Friday. We had to get a teeny plane over to the islands then a boat to our island.

The view from our balcony was stunning

On the Saturday we went to nearby Tresco, it was not even 5 minutes on the boat & cost us £2.50 each way.

We saw 2 castle ruins, King Charles & Cromwell. There were some gorgeous beaches as we walked round the island.

We stopped at the Abbey Gardens.for some lunch

It took us 4 hours to walk around the island, including our lunch stop

On the Saturday night I became quite ill, I’d had the cold but then I started shaking & felt like I was going to pass out. Mr M went for tea himself but brought me up some lovely food

On Sunday I still didn’t feel well but the weather was gorgeous so we had a little wander around Bryher. We went to the Fraggle Rock Cafe which sold amazing ice cream then got some local fudge from an honesty stand

We then sat on the beach. Why lie in bed when you can lie on the beach!

We had a lovely meal on the Sunday & headed home on the Monday

If you like walking, nature or just not doing very much I would definitely recommend taking a look at the Isles of Scilly. I don’t think we’d take the boys as they’re a bit too young.
