Running mishap

I’ve had problems with my sacroiliac joint since I was pregnant with Mini M

It flares up at certain times of the month due to hormones

I am usually ok with a heat pack & pain killers

I went for a run on Friday morning, by Friday evening my back was really sore. On Saturday I was in agony. I took pain relief & NSAIDs to help with any inflammation. I had a heat pack on & had a hot bath. When I was in the bath the pain did get better but as soon as I got out it was sore again

The pain relief helped. The heat pack helped. But it was still sore

I’m worried about my half marathon in May. I’m worried that my long distance running days are over. I love running! It’s a great way to relieve stress & get out of my head.

I’m not a quitter, I like to have a plan

Starting from today I’m going to do strengthening exercises

I’m going to go to the gym at the weekend & do some light weight work & maybe a cycle then I’ll see how I feel about a run

I’m going to give it a few weeks then make a decision about my run

Fingers crossed everything works out!
