Monthly Bucket list – Jan 2016

Hello January!!

Hello 2016!!

I’m not one for new year resolutions

Last year I took part in Beth from Twinderelmo Monthly Bucket list linky

I really enjoyed it & found setting little (or big) monthly goals much more achieveable

I do have some big goals for the year like my 100km challenge & buying our first house but these can also be divided into little monthly goals too

So what do I want to achieve in January?

  • To put our phones down – we are both bad for being on social media, I find with my blog I don’t want to miss what’s going on. But family & Mini M come first so I’m only going to blog & go on social media when he’s not around
  • Have a date night every month with Mr M – we need to make time for us & remember we are a couple as well as mummy & daddy. We’ve got tickets to see Paddy McGuinness at the end of the month so that’ll be good
  • Get into full training mode – I’ve got my first 10km at the end of February, the first run of my 100km challenge
  • Focus on us – I’ve been letting other people’s behaviour get to me. I don’t understand why people don’t want to come spend time with Mini M. Rather than get angry, upset & usual have a heated discussion with Mr M about it, this year I’m going to remind myself that it’s their loss & Mini M is a happy little boy with or without them
  • Start the paperwork ball rolling for our new house – we’re finally buying our very own house!! This month will involve lots of the paperwork side of this
  • Be organised – I got bought 2 lovely notebooks & a diary for my Christmas, I have no excuse not to noted things down & be organised, especially where my blog is concerned

What do you want to achieve this month?

Such fab goals there Rachel and such a variety. Good luck with the home buying, I hope it isn’t too stressful. You have so many fab things to look forward to and I agree, I couldn’t advice enough to just focus on you as a family and forget those who aren’t interested. Focus on you!… And put your phone down… now! 😉

    Happy new year lovely.

    Gemma xx

Lots of excellent goals! I also plan to put my phone down more often. I seem to be constantly checking it at the moment which is pretty bad. Good luck with house buying, this is something we’ll be planning to do in the next couple of years.

    Also it’s definitely there loss

    Laura x

I am such a nightmare for messing on my phone too much. I really should do the same! Great goals for January, and really exciting that you’re buying a house! I hope it’s as painless as possible for you! Thumbs up to date night too! If only I had a babysitter Grrr! xx

Love the idea of a monthly bucket list. Good luck with your 100k challenge – that will be an amazing achievement. I really should do a monthly date night with my husband, it’s so easy for our relationship to get lost with all of the busy craziness!

Quite a few of these needs to be on my list too! I am terrible for spending too much time on my phone and we also need to have a regular date night.

Fab news on the house though – how very exciting for you! x

It’s a great way to set yourself achieveable goals. Thanks Sarah. It really is especially when, like us, there aren’t family nearby who can help out with babysitting xx

  7. mummymelton says:

Yeah we struggle with babysitters too, some date nights will have to be in house once little man is in bed. Thanks, it’s a new build so it’ll be exciting seeing it built from scratch xx

It’s important to spend time together, it doesn’t have to be anything extravagant either, cuddling on the sofa watching a dvd is heaven to me xx

You have great goals Rachel! I also have decided to Disconnect from my phone more often during this year as it is very addictive. We ended up being all the time checking, twitter, facebook, instagram, emails, whatsapp etc!! It is really bad when it gets to the point that you give priority to that than your family!! Have more date nights is something that I would love to do more too. How exciting about a new home!! This another goal that I would like to achieve too but it probably will be more realistic to happen in 2017. Be organised is definitely part of my goals too! LOL we have similar goals although mine are for the whole year! 😉 xx

We do have similar goals . I definitely think that I’ll need to set the phone and date nights throughout the year though there may be some slip ups xx

It certainly is their loss and I’m sure your decision to not care will bE the best for you all
10k? Wow. I’m in complete awe. Best of luck! Social media breaks are just lovely even just for a few evenings. It’s crazy how fast time can past and all you’ve done is scroll through Twitter!
Thanks so much for linking again xxx
